5/14: Community Night + Map N’ Pack

📍Kiwanis Park from 6–8pm

This summer, Slow Spokes is hosting two new casual monthly social gatherings from May–October with resources and folks available to support your bikepacking journey!

We’re combining the two (Map N’ Pack + Community Night) for one introductory event on Thursday, May 14 from 6–8pm at Kiwanis Park. After that, they’ll be their own independent events on different days, each occurring monthly. So what happens at these things?!

Map N’ Pack is a monthly evening with our Gear Library committee to check out what the library has to offer, try new stuff on your bike, and ask questions about packing, planning, routes, and more!

Community Night is a monthly social gathering with a casual skill-building element. For example, this month we’ll spend the first 15 minutes sharing what’s in our bikepacking toolkits then transition into a mini picnic to meet new bikepacking friends.

The goal of these new events is to create a casual, laid-back space to form connections, ask questions, and overcome barriers to bikepacking together. Let us know if you have an idea for a skillshare or community-building activity!

5/26: Bikepacking 101

📍Free Cycles (732 S 1st St W) from 6:30–8pm

Whether you’re bikepacking-curious or want to gain a new perspective on our favorite way to recreate, come to our most-loved workshop of the year: Bikepacking 101! Our Gear Library will be available to peruse and check out after the workshop.

Absolutely no experience, knowledge, gear, or money is required to show up and learn with us — bring your questions, curiosity, and a friend!

6/6: Dusty Bandita (aid station)

📍Ovando, Montana from ~9am–1pm

Grab your costume box! We’re returning to The Dusty Bandita, an all-day gravel event run by and for non-binary and women cyclists. Help us fuel and encourage riders in true Slow Spokes fashion! We’ll be back at the first aid station loaded with Twizzlers, electrolytes, and plenty of good vibes.

Want to join our aid station crew? Have questions?
